Why Panic Attack Depression Causes Two Separate Issues
Panic attack depression is a thankfully rare amalgamation of two of the most debilitating conditions to affect the human mind. In recent years, there has been a huge increase in the numbers of reported incidents of both depression and anxiety, which is an extremely worrying trend. There is no doubt, though, that the figures seem worse than they actually are. In the past, these health conditions were not taken seriously, and anyone who suffered with them was simply expected to shake it off and carry on with life.
In the real world, it is not that easy, and these psychological conditions are now being properly recognized by the medical profession. There has also, though, been an increase in the actual numbers of people suffering with these conditions, though it may just be that there are more stimulants to link in with the underlying condition. Although depression and panic attacks are fundamentally different, there is a definite link between the two, and this can cause both sets of symptoms to occur at the same time.
Depression is a condition which afflicts the sufferer for an extended length of time. It can be likened to the dull pain rather than the sharp one. There can often be no obvious reason for a patient to feel depression, as the cause can be under the surface. Panic and anxiety operate in a completely different way, with the sudden onslaught of fear which is equally difficult to explain. It is quite possible for someone who is depressed to have a sudden attack of panic, and this can be caused by the same stimulant, or a different one.
When depression panic attacks strike, the emphasis must be with dealing with the current attack. The issues of why the patient is depressed in the first place need of be left for later. It is important not to use deep breathing exercises to try to get the patient to relax, as these are likely to have the opposite effect from the one intended. There is strong evidence to suggest that the altered breathing links in with the emotional charge buried within the mind, and causes an increased reaction.
Drugs can be used to cope with panic attack depression, although they offer no hope of a permanent solution. The only way problems of panic attacks and depression can be eradicated is by going deep into the mind and removing the charge from the buried memory. Counseling and psychotherapy have both had their successes in removing this charge, but they often need a protracted course of treatments. Hypnotherapy helps the mind to connect with the problem far more quickly. There are new therapies being developed which also promise a quicker solution to panic attack depression.
