Why Xanax For Panic Attacks Has Inconsistent Results

Xanax for panic attacks is one of the most common synthetic drug solutions used to treat the symptoms of an increasingly common phenomenon. The incidence of panic attacks, and the related conditions of anxiety and depression, is higher than it was in previous decades. Figures for the past are undoubtedly lower than they otherwise would be, due to the fact that many people who suffered with these conditions in the past were not taken seriously. There is no doubt, though, that the genuine incidence of these conditions is higher than previously.

It is important to understand that the background to panic attacks and depression remains largely unknown. The cause appears to be within the mind, as some patients have been healed by counseling and hypnotherapy which are able to get deep into the mind and to the heart of the problem. There is no possibility of curing the condition with a drug treatment, yet drugs can allow the patient to live a relatively normal life while other treatments are used.

Drugs such as Xanax are not intended to be potential cures. It is accepted that the stimulation of the mental faculty which causes the problem is going to occur, and at the onset of the panic attacks Xanax will block the chemical pathways in the brain which allow the reaction to happen. In this way, the patient will notice the stimulating factor, but will not be affected by it. It is possible to maintain a normal life almost indefinitely using this type of drug, unless the body adjusts to it and the problems occur again.

There have been thousands of users of Xanax since the drug first came into common use, and the results reported have been inconsistent. In almost every case, there has been some relief of panic attack symptoms once a high enough dose of the drug is taken, and once the drug treatment has gone through an initial period where it is not effective. It is the side effects which have been most inconsistent, with some people suffering nothing more than a dry throat, while others feel so light-headed they are no longer able to work.

The most important point to remember is that the use of Xanax for panic attacks is strictly for symptom reduction only. If you have any desire to overcome the condition completely, and wean yourself off the drug treatments, you will need to look into treatments which go deep into the human mind. The condition can only be dealt with and removed by finding the memory buried within the mind which is charged with fear or anger. This can be done with counseling, or a therapy which reaches into the mind. These can be carried out while you are still taking Xanax for panic attacks.
